JOB DESCRIPTION
A Wiring Technician at AES is pivotal in supporting the assembly and maintenance of our projects, including innovative parade floats and other creative installations. This entry-level role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity of the electrical and mechanical systems across our diverse creations. Key responsibilities include implementing project plans that involve wiring work, installing switches, access points, and other essential network hardware and ancillary equipment.

This position requires a professional who is eager to take responsibility, can communicate effectively, and is skilled in established wiring practices and procedures. The ideal candidate will:

● Produce accurate and presentable outputs that adhere to AES’s standards.
● Provide services that satisfy the requirements of management, clients, and team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Assist in the wiring and setup of electrical systems, ensuring safety and functionality.
● Navigate compact float structures to install, inspect, and maintain electrical components and wiring systems.
● Runs wire and terminates data connections. Assists or performs installation of communications hardware (e.g., switches, access points, firewalls, etc.).
● Performs or assists in the resolution of data communications problems.
● Work closely with design and engineering teams to implement custom mechanical solutions tailored to each float's thematic requirements.
● Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of float mechanisms during both construction and post-parade operations.
● Performs routine clerical duties (i.e., Time entry, notes on work performed, documenting IP addressing, etc.).
● Performs housekeeping functions on network infrastructure and associated equipment.
● Works with multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Performs any other duties as assigned or as needed.

REQUIREMENTS/REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
● Practical knowledge in handling electrical and mechanical components preferred.
● Ability to understand and execute complex instructions related to float assembly and troubleshooting.
● Physical agility and stamina to navigate tight spaces and work in physically challenging environments.
● Basic familiarity with electrical engineering concepts is a plus, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Must be physically fit and able to crawl through tight spaces, climb ladders, and maneuver around large objects.
● Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that may require bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods. ● Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Experience in a technical or mechanical field is preferred, especially with direct involvement in hands-on assembly or maintenance.
● High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in electrical, mechanical, or related fields is a plus.
